Kron's companionship to Latha did not last long. A distant cousin of the city administrator, Latha's companionship to Kron was not a popular one, and eyes followed his every move. For a drunken tavern-keep the additional attention of the lawmakers and the high caste was hard to bear.

When his companion bore their first child, things became even more difficult.

Things finally came to a head and Kron attempted to take the child and flee the village, however the law had other ideas, and took the child, giving her to her mother and arresting Kron for 'being a bad companion'.

As he was being led to the city cells, a guard, well known to Kron, took pity on him and 'accidentally' let him go. Kron fled the island of Svago, knowing he would be branded an outlaw and likely executed on sight. He moved around for many years, laying low, working at odd jobs in various places, before retiring to Tampica, in hiding.

Finally, after 40 years, Kron returned to Svago, to find the city had been razed and reborn.
