I hate having to do this. I hate having to ban people from my sim... why can't people behave.

It is unfortunate you had to do this and I understand.

I made the sim photo and video friendly so people could put out poses to take snapshots. Lately people have been building there, putting out houses and even games. It makes me angry then it makes me sad. I'm not sure which one I should feel. I just don't get people and why they can't be respectful even in the virtual world.

Some people do not take the time to read the notecard. Some people think that sims are 'free' places where they can do whatever they please. I have a small parcel on a sim that is currently open/unoccupied and I discovered recently that someone had put up a skybox on it. People, SL is not 'free'.

If people ask I wouldn't mind... but one person flew up 1000m in the sky placed out a vampire castle (500 prims worth) and invited his friends over. When I returned his stuff, ejected and banned him he proceeded to hop on an alt, harass me and tell me I was the reason SL was going bad. Yet for two years I've been opening my sim to people and sharing it without any problems. I had to ban 8 people yesterday. That is the most ever in one day, let alone a few months. It just makes me sad.

And unlike other sim owners I never ask for donations, I pay for it out of my own money... because I believe SL should be shared with others. I want to give a home to people that wander, just like I did when I started SL. It is always those random few that ruin it for the rest of us. And to quote "This is why we can't have nice things." lol

Hugzz blackcloud, cheer~ they don't deserve your frustration, we all standby you. ❥

Thank you. I am going to set the land to a group for build only. This should help. If it does not and people still abuse placing items I will make the sim private. People forget it is also my home here in Second Life. They should try to respect that.

I haven't been to your sim yet because I thought it was a private place. I may come look (and rez my vampire sex dungeon!) Joking aside, I can tell you you're not alone with these feelings. Hosting a space will test every fiber of your being at some point. All in all, more people will silently appreciate what you do, than the minority who will bitch an groan about your oversight. Just remind yourself that it makes you happy, and give no fucks about peoples opinion when they get slapped for being rude.

No the sim has been open to the public since I got it. Please come and visit! The only part that is private is the corner lot where my house is and I like to pretend I have some sort of privacy. lol. Most people are very kind and I very rarely have to ban anyone; when I do I hate it, but yesterday 8 people in one day was enough to make me want to pack up and leave SL for good. I just can't get over how some people are and I dread to imagine what they are like in real life. Humanity is doomed. DOOOOOOMED!

I think it is more that some people lose their sense of right and wrong when they become an avatar and then think the SL world is theirs for the taking. Of course, then again, some people are just asshats. As long as generous and kind people like you share your lovely places with others we are not doomed. :)

I thought it was a private sim, too! Ugh, it's ridiculous what people will try to get away with when they think nobody's looking -- or when they just don't care. Don't let the jerkwads get you down, though. They're a hell of a lot louder... but, in the end, there really are fewer of them.
