The NASA Space Program is responsible for the nation's civilian space program and for aeronautics and aerospace research.
The agency regularly conducts both manned and unmanned launches including deep space probes, satellites and manned spacecraft, reaching orbit at around 4,000 meters.
The agency is also responsible for the Launch Services Program (LSP) which provides oversight of launch operations and countdown management for unmanned NASA launch
