2. Rujiel "Harpell" De'Vand

Rujiel De’Vand was only 13 when the orcs of Many-Arrows destroyed his home of Nesmé in 1484 DR during the War of the Silver Marches. His father, a devoted hunter of Mielikki, likely perished in the city’s defense, while his mother, a scholar of Mystra, was lost in the chaos. Captured by the orcs, Rujiel was forced into hard labor until he was liberated by the dwarves of Mithral Hall. During his recovery, he discovered a spark of arcane talent, a gift that led him to the eccentric mage Kipper Harpell, who offered him an apprenticeship among the spellcasters of Longsaddle.

Now, in 1492 DR, Rujiel has grown into a skilled wizard, taking the name Rujiel "Harpell" De’Vand in honor of his mentor and new family. Though his years with the Harpells have made him an unconventional spellcaster, his past still weighs heavily on him. Whether seeking answers about his mother, justice for Nesmé, or simply his own place in the world, he knows that his journey is only beginning.
