Where The Heart Is, Honah Lee Point (55.8189,143.14,2801.42)

If this looks like Endor, from Star Wars, to you there is a good reason. This is in the Northern California Redwoods, near where those scenes were shot. I grew up in a home about 1/4 of a mile from this particular park, in a tinnnnnyyy little place called Hiouchi about 15 minutes from the ocean.

I spent my childhood running around these forests, swimming in the nearby river, and learning wilderness survival skills from a father in the US Special Forces. It wasn't always fun & games, but my sister and I learned some valuable skills which I later took into the military and she took to shows like Naked & Afraid, lol.

I miss this area almost every day. The way you can feel the energy of the forest around you is almost magical. There is a palpable aura of life energy that anyone can feel when within these old growth forests.

And the ability to drive 15 minutes to go surfing is a big plus.
