"I tried to do right, for my wife, decided to leave Usk, we moved on the road for days till we reached Abergavenny, I took up hard field labor no reward we stayed there for a few years until the sickness swept through our serfdom, Bree, me wife, she was one of the first to fall. Life took a downhill spiral from thereon , I decided i was done with farming, working the land for nothing, if she was dead then I had no reason to be good. the way i seen it was I've tried the 'hard work life, ' its not worth the pain , Im not gunna join for king and country fighting in who knows what even if the pay is a few coppers and a silver more then i could ever scourge. I slowly slipped back into a life of crime this time risking things coin clipping, I scraped my way by for a few years before i made a mistake. I had decided to return to Usk thinking that my years away would have made people forget me, that the old guards would have moved on, but I was oh so very wrong."
