Rennbahn Hoppegarten General
In 1829 Berlin became the second German city to stage thoroughbred racing. About 12 miles east of the city centre, Hoppegarten was the chosen location for a new green field racing and training centre which opened in 1868. In the 1920s the Hoppegarten was at its peak with over 1200 of the best European horses in training there.
