Stories linger in the southern air.
Pops preserves them, brick by brick,
A guardian strong, both kind and quick.

The bad men come, the shadows creep,
But Pops stands firm—this town, he'll keep.
Does he need help? Maybe so,
But he'd never ask, you'd never know.

A mayor's job is never light,
Long days, hard fights, and sleepless nights.
But if it were easy, don’t you see?
Pops would still lend a hand for free.

He carries the past, protects the now,
With calloused hands and a furrowed brow.
For southern roots run deep and wide,
And Pops stands tall with timeless pride.
