When Arianna was shot and presumed dead she was abducted by sex slave traders. She was taken to an island and drugged. She lost her memory and adopted an associative persona in her trauma.
Evah emerged and protected Arianna while she was in her fragile state.
When Arianna escaped her fate and made it back to Morelock Evah had taken over. After some time Arianna regained her memory, but Evah has never left.
Now Evah has learned to emerge whenever she likes, causing trouble and disrupting Arianna's life.
It is possible at some point she could take over completely.
