Mysteries of SL - Shemales
In Second Life we can be whatever we like. Lots of people play the opposite gender in SL to what they are in RL. That's mainly men playing as women but also some the other way round.
In real life there are transgender people who prefer to live their life as the opposite gender to that they're born as. If they're happy doing that, then that's fine.
Some transgender people would be defined as 'shemale' - i.e. resembling a woman but retaining male 'parts'. I can see why they might be like that in real life.
And if people want to play in SL as shemales, that's OK too. However that still leaves the mystery of why SO MANY people choose to play SL as shemales when they could have a proper FEMALE avatar. And who are the people who tend to play as shemales?
