My dear Sofia, YOU ARE a marvelous Fairy, dressed in these large dark green leaves, your back adorned with your luminous and delicate wings, your hair a delicious pink-blond with their tips delicately raised, and your small hands tight on these translucent globes flooding the dark stone with a beautiful turquoise glow... Would witches be fairies gone wrong ? I don't believe a word of it... They have in common that they are women : fulfilled (thus fairies) or unhappy (thus witches) ^^ (yr friend fairy Julie)

Julie I love that you often bring up these most important themes in your pictures and in the pictures of others. Its a great question about witches. For so long people associated them as bad and as scary. And also they made faeries the opposite. But I think it was a way to put women into boxes. On looking a bit more into fairy stories, we can really see that there can be bad faires and good witches. maybe the difference is that witches also use natural ingredients in their potions...

So witches are like humans who can do magic. But fairies are entirely magical creatures.. non-human. maybe that is a way to look at it. Thank you so much for pointing to the commonality - of being women. I love both archetypes. And thank you thank you for such rich commentary of all tthose details. It took a long time to catch my hands in the right pose.. and yes! I love thes orbs! and there is one in each hand too :-) and thank you for the lovely compliments about my hair and outfit. Helene.. I thik that these wings are made from different kinds of silk .. and the 'spine' is made from some kind of reed.. I love that you were in a fairy feeling when you saw the picture. i hope it lasted a good while!
