Torgis and Caleb come from the polis of Elis on the Peloponnesos, home of the Hellanodikia, the official judges of the Olympic Games and guardians of Olympia. People from Elis pride themselves on their honesty and fair approach.

Tor has moved to the new city to join his brother Prinz in establishing a small farm and homestead in service to His Lord Zeus. He brought along his ward, Caleb whose parents sent him with Tor to learn the arts and gain some discipline. They worry about their son's libertine ways and misbehavior. Tor has promised to protect and teach the young man in many things.

Tor is an accomplished athlete and has recently dedicated himself to teaching the fine and noble art of wrestling. He hopes to make Caleb his apprentice and turn the young man into a master wrestler as well. He is an amazing architect as well.

Meanwhile, Caleb fancies himself an artist and plans to sculpt, paint, make music and learn the ways of love. He is also trying (unsuccessfully) to stay out of trouble.
