Being forced in servitude, at the estimated age of 8 , her tanned skin , green eyes and red hair were very noticed by wealthy men on Jamaica. She worked on the plantages for many years, being auctioned and sold off again, untill her estimated age of 15. Then a wealthy Jamaican Lord, bought her freedom, seeing her as his daughter, and gave her oppertunity to study. She got intrested in the art of brewing and farming, she studied english, french , dutch and german.
