According to Linden Labs, disclosure of conversations in IMs without prior consent in a violation of the ToS.

I am clearly stating that all my conversations are logged on SL & my comp so by IM'ing me, whether you read or haven't read these statements, I state that those logs can be used at my discretion without any further notice beyond these statements. I'm glad you read this one. If this bothers you , I'm sorry but I've learned the hard way, log everything.
